XbW First Time Installation

1. File System Structure

To enable proper XbW functionality, you must create a symlink to the directory "xw" so that this directory can be reached directly from the root directory. For example, assuming that you have unpacked the xbw archive into /usr/local/xw/... so that the c-sources for xbw are located in
      /usr/local/xw/csource

you should have to type:
      ln -s /usr/local/xw /xw

This will create a "standard XbW directory path":
     /xw/ -the XbW package
     /xw/csources -the C sources
     /xw/csources/makemfx -an additional, important tool
     /xw/applications -some samples
     /xw/x-----------------the xbw function library
/xw/x/objectbuilder -the OBJECT BUILDER for xbw which is more like
                           an "OBJECT MODIFIER TOOL"

2. Font Size

Sometimes it may be necessary to change the font size of XbW according to the fonts you have; for this, you will have to modify the file /xw/x/stdfont.mta That file must be changed analog to the files:
     /xw/x/bigfont.mta
     /xw/x/smallfont.mta
     /xw/x/thinfont.mta

You really should choose a font with "fixed" spacing; otherwise, the XbW data input into objects will be confusing.

3. Installation/Compilation

Do a
     # cd /xw/installation

and
     # ./install.xbw
