This directory contains the SWI-Prolog 4.0 reference manual.

Last updated: Dec  4 2001 for version 4.1.0

The reference manual is available in four formats:

	# refman.pdf
	Adobe's Portable Document Format version, created using
	pdflatex. You can read this using acroread, xpdf, recent
	versions of ghostview (gsview, gv) or any other pdf-1.2 capable
	viewer. You can also print PDF files using these tools.

	# HTMLmanual.tar.gz
	Packed form of:
	http://www.swi.psy.uva.nl/projects/SWI-Prolog/Manual/

There is nothing in this manual that  is   not  in  the online manual as
well. The ASCII sources for the   online  manual live in library/MANUAL,
which is generated using TeX and  dvi2tty   from  the same source as the
above manuals. The file library/helpidx.pl  contains   the  index to the
manual and is generated  by  parsing   MANUAL  with  the  Prolog program
man/plindex.pl

The LaTeX sources of the documentation are distributed with the sources.
