Those who are known mirrors with their admins subscribed to
the `suse-mirror'-mailinglist are (of course) _not_ affected.

in a country with few or no SuSE mirror sites

Dear Linux-Admin,

please make sure that you meet the following conditions if
you intend to mirror ftp.suse.com:

- SuSE Linux (YaST in particular) may not be reproduced on
  CDs or other media FOR PROFIT. Reproduction for personal
  or educational use is explicitly allowed and encouraged.

- The SuSE Linux manual may not be reprinted (on paper)

- We want your mirror-site to be publicly available
  (`semi-publicly' - e.g. a whole university-campus
   - is OK, too)

- You (the mirror-admin) are required to be subscribed to the
  `suse-mirror'-mailinglist at majordomo@suse.com
  This is a moderated, announcement-only, low-traffic list.

These conditions apply to the files below ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub

The difference between the ftp-version and the evaluation-version
is simply in the number of software-packages. The core system
including kernel, glibc, gcc, utils and XFree86 is identical.

Due to US crypto regulations, ftp.suse.com does not contain
crypto-software (e.g. ssh). Crypto software is available at
ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/
for all recent versions of SuSE Linux.

If your mirror-site is in Europe (esp. Germany) you may want to
mirror ftp.gwdg.de instead of ftp.suse.com. ftp.gwdg.de
is connected to the German university network WiN and has plenty
of bandwith. Please contact Eberhard Moenkeberg of gwdg.de
(emoenke@gwdg.de) and ask for his permission.
